:(

I've got cold since Tuesday evening.
I still have got a fiver but it's getting better so I did some research for next essay.
I decided to write about memory which is deeply connected to my work.

The theme is quite difficult to analyze and bit expanded.
Maybe it's going to be hard to write about it, because I haven't been able to analyze my work so.

Vienna 2nd day

In the 2nd day, I went to Palace of Schonbrunn.
After that, I went to Austrian National Gallery, then I saw whole exhibition. There were some of Klimt's painting and some his related artist's works something like Egon Sciele. Hi is also my favorite artist so I was really impressed. Also in the other exhibition, there were some of Andy Wohol's works, monet, Francis Bacon and so many famous art works.

There were photograph of Klimt's Medicine and Philosophy as large as life.
It was so amazing even it is not real, because when I saw these paintings on a book I couldn't imagine the life size. I was so surprised that the paintings were so big.

During I was looking around the exhibition, I remembered that there is also his most famous painting 'Kiss' in somewhere else in Vienna, so I searched on my iPhone and I went to palace of Belvedere.

It was further from the National Gallery, but I thought 'I can't go back unless I saw 'The Kiss'!!!' so I went to there. When I saw it, I couldn't think anything and I couldn't say anything. It was so beautiful and impressive. Also the scale was bigger than I imagined. It was most memorable moment in my life I think. I can not forget the time that I was standing in front of 'The Kiss' and Vienna. I definitely want to come back again.

In the end, we drunk a beer at airport:)

Vienna 1st day

I went to Vienna in Austria this weekend with my flatmate.
I could see Klimt's work so really enjoyed it.

In first day, we went to see a towered church, then we went to observation deck to see the landscape of Vienna.
Also when we see the landscape, suddenly an arch of the rainbow appeared in the middle of the view. It was so beautiful and we were impressed so much.

After that we went to see the secession. There are Klimt's wall painting. It was first time to see his work for me and I was so impressed because, I have yearned him since when I was 15 years old, and before I came to London, I didn't expect that I can see his work unless his exhibition comes to Japan. Also the wall painting was not completed so, it makes me that I see his work in the progress. I can't forget the moment when I saw it.

After I saw his work, another exhibition was going on so I saw it as well.

Process

I decided to make next work which it is about my memories in Japan.
It might easy to create the connection of team and work, and more obvious.
Last time, I suffered from how to make the connection and how to chose the motives.
However this time, I will categorize the memories for example, memory in Japan, memory when I'm at school, when I went to travel.
It seems kind of shallow but it's okay for beginning.
This is kind of excersize to analyze my idea.

and I continued to paint oil color today.
Next time I'm going to layered white pigment.

layered

today and yesterday, I try to make a ground of the painting.
Yesterday I painted Gesso, then today I painted oil color.
But I forgot to bring a camera so I couldn't record it.
I want to build up my own style and, this time my style is 'Layered' so
I'm suppose to layer oil color many times.

2nd term

The 2nd term started from today.

I thought we might have something like introduction but we didn't have so
I did some research, and thought about what I am going to do next.
I'm suppose to work with same theme and concept.
What difficult is deciding what I'm going to draw.
Last time when I made first work, it was so difficult to decided the motives on the painting, because the theme was too wide.
In the mean time, I went to buy a big canvas and bring to school.

Also I decided aims for this term are make big work, make much more work as I can,
and analyze my image of memory and illusion and create some definite style of painting for it.
I have got more other, but they are biggest goals tentatively.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly was produced by one of famous artist Julian Schnabel in 2007. Adapted from a same title autobiography by Jean-Dominique Bauby. This film nominated four Oscars and another forty-one wins and thirty-three nominations.

The film about famous ELLE editor Jean-Dominique Bauby who suffers a strok that is called 'locked in syndrome' and his whole body is paralysed except only his left eye. Before it happened he was succeed with his job, has children and has soul mate. He was living extremely “good life”. However, he had lived on the bed ever since he had stroke. Moreover he had to communicate with only blinking. As he despair of the future, a speech therapist Anliet had taught method of communicating with people. Then he started to write his memoir. He gets rid of a adversity with infinite imagination, memories, and love in life. The autobiography was published in French on March 6th and bauby died few days later.

Visually, the film is amazingly beautiful and almost like art. There are a various of impressible effects and realistic expressions that is focused on Jean-Do's view. In a scene that Jean-Do's right eye is sew up from his point of view, it is quite hash but it effect to viewer's impression when they see the changes of his affections. The effect makes veiwer involved emotionally. In some scenes fantastical description affects to entire atmosphere of the film. These affects explain Jean-Do's affections and the scenery from his observing point.
